Diseases and Parasites
Generally Alpacas are very healthy animals, there are only a few Diseases and Parasites that alpacas can get that you should be concerned about. Making sure they have clean water, and sanitary living quarters will keep your alpaca healthy.
Health Issues
As with their possible diseases and parasites, alpacas dont have that many Health Issues. The issues they can have with their health should rarely happen if you raise and take care of your alpacas with great care.
Shearing Alpacas
You should shear your alpacas at least once a year, this is mainly done in the spring to early summer time so the alpacas can have a fresh new cut and be cooler over the summer.
Hoof/Toe Nail Trimming
When owning and raising alpacas one care requirement that alpacas need is to have their hoofs and or toe nails trimmed about every 3 or so months so they have healthy feet which will overall keep your alpaca healthy.
Alpaca Tooth Cutting
Another requirement when owning alpacas is cutting their teeth, this is mainly only required for the males because they are the ones that like to fight and show dominance so to prevent injuries you should learn the steps to cutting your alpacas teeth.
